Have you been hugged by another adult lately? Atrocious.

As children, we hugged indiscriminately. Nothing like the half-hearted, one-armed, you-call-that-a-hug we give and get as adults.

What we've forgotten is that hugging is a gift in its purest form.

You are in control of your wellness destiny.

Your finances, your relationships, your self-esteem, your career, your fitness all start with your mind.

For DC Fit Week, we asked a variety of people to contribute posts, from dating coaches to yogis, in order to show the variety of ways you can take care of yourself everyday.

This is going to be a big year for me. A big year for my company. At least I believe it will be, because I’m abandoning my comfort zone and expanding.

That might not sound like such a big deal, but so far I've managed to be 107 Designs by myself (mostly), and I've taken pride in being the Jack-of-all-trades kind of guy. But what I've learned is that in reality, I end up being the second half of that adage, "master of none.”

Ok, well maybe not SUPERstar--but I'm pretty darn happy.

My story begins while I was at the gym trying to lose some "baby weight". Yes, I gained over 50 lbs with each of my two pregnancies and I wasn't petite to begin with!

In my newsletter out this week I challenged everyone, including myself, to set aside five days in August for living by instinct.

Whether you're in the office or on vacation, that means reserving five (non-consecutive) days to remove the "should"s and judgment, and do what you feel like doing. No schedule, no itinerary for the whole day.

I know it seems counter-intuitive for a work day, but trust me: you get work done and you feel better. Less rushed, harried, trying to fulfill the needs of others while losing track of your own.
