Please join me on Tuesday!

How is your December so far? I hope you're making time for what you like best about the season. I'm happy to report that my calendar is perfectly dotted with GREEN activities that fill my heart with joy. Sushi with a good friend. Touring historic mansions decked out with Christmas decorations. Ukelele shopping!

If you can't believe that we are nearly halfway through the month, these Tips for Slowing Down may help.

Along with sugarplums, is the question What's Next dancing in your head?

Where you are may be fine for now, but something else is on the horizon. It could only be an inkling, or maybe it's already staring you in the face.

Clients come to me when they are ready for a new opportunity that makes them excited to get out of bed in the morning. The only problem is that they don't know what it is...yet. That's what we figure out together -- what opportunity will allow them to feel valued, and to know that they are making a difference every day.

What does this have to do with December?

No matter how much you want this new opportunity to land in your lap, now is not the time.

Ugh, I would hate me for saying that. It's true, but I would still hate hearing it.

Please, hear me out.

In the midst of the hustle & bustle of this season and checking everything else off your to-do list is not the time to brainstorm. You just don't have the head space for it.

What it is time for is creating room to do your best thinking...in January.

We are going to find you the best new _____ in the new year. I have full faith in both of us. If you're already thinking about what that could be, great, start a running list of everything that pops into your head, sugarplums and all. Build your reading list of career-changing, business-building inspiration. THEN PUT ALL OF THAT ASIDE.

January will be here soon enough and in the new year you'll be more able to focus on, and find, what you're looking for.

What will help that happen is making peace with where you are now. Feeling accomplished about what you did this year, and what you're finishing now so you have a Clean Slate.

You know how lighter you feel with a Clean Slate.

Because that clean slate means all of the ideas for what's next that you are forcing yourself to try to figure out will suddenly, and seemingly magically, bubble to the surface with no effort at all. You'll have all sorts of a-ha's in the shower and on your commute if you Make Space now.

On Tuesday, I will help you do that. We'll create:

Your 2013 Highlights Reel

Please join me at 8:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday as I lead us in looking back at the whole year in order to begin 2014 with a clean slate. I've offered this activity individually to clients in the past, but I think the group dynamic will add more. I think you'll agree.

Together we will celebrate all you have accomplished, much more than you probably realize at the moment. We'll also uncover lessons you learned to take with you into the new year. You'll walk away feeling organized, focused (perhaps even relieved) and ready.
